$17,585 – April 2022 Ezoic Earnings Report

Well, what a ride it has been, eh? We began this endeavour 19 months ago out of frustration due to the low rate of monetization that we’d earned through AdSense. Within a month of switching to the Ezoic premium ad network, our case study domain netted nearly 3.5x inside just 30 days. Such an impressive milestone encouraged us to stick around with Ezoic, and see just how much we can earn.

It’s been quite a long journey, which we’ve documented extensively with our monthly reports. From the $606 we earned in October 2020 – our first month with Ezoic – it continued to skyrocket to more than $16,136 by March of 2022. This is a 26.6x increase in ad revenues after only a year and a half. And, the story gets even rosier, as last month – April 2022 – saw ever higher returns thanks to Ezoic.

In total, April 2022’s ad revenues stand at $17,585. Now to be fair, this contribution doesn’t solely come from Ezoic themselves. They have this clever tool called mediation. Once turned on, Ezoic will actively allow alternative ad providers to take place of Ezoic’s own placeholders. Although, it’ll only occur if, based on bidding data, Ezoic knows that you could monetize more with them, instead.

Of that $17,585 in total ad revenues accrued for April 2022, roughly $2,697 came from AdSense, in conjunction with Ezoic’s mediation services. In addition, our case study site is also a part of Ezoic’s Premium program, where A-tier and high-paying advertisers have a chance of putting their ads on your site. As such, granting you a higher chance of earning more through displaying advertising.

Key Figures

A key part of our higher ad revenues in April 2022 over March is the increase in traffic leading to our case study site. We’re seeing a continued upwards trend, resulting in a nearly 9% improvement in ad revenue. In particular, we saw over 437,000 visits and more than 514,000 pageviews. Amongst that figure, about 292,000 of them are tagged as ‘engaged’ pageviews of folks who stuck around.

Excitingly, these are all-time highs for our site. However, the ePMV (earnings per thousand visitors) is a very slight decrease compared to March. Another notable piece of data is our daily earnings. There are days in which we earned over $763 within a 24-hour span. This is a whopping 4.3x higher than ad revenues earned by AdSense throughout the whole of September 2020 – our last month with them.

Even on bad days across April 2022, our daily ad revenues consistently averaged around $600, with mid-$400s on the worst days. While April 2022’s earnings boost isn’t as massive as we’ve seen during other months, there are plenty of motivating signs. With more than half a million monthly pageviews, a good move forward would be trying to boost readership even further. The answer here is content.

Since we began, our entire content strategy – on the case study domain – has been long-form articles. These 3,000-word, SEO-focused, and keyword-targeted articles have done well before. Our aim today is to have at least 100 of those articles published each month. As we persist in building resources for our audience, we hope to attract more readers over time. Hence, leading to higher ad revenues.
