$5,396 – July 2021 Ezoic Earnings Report

July 2021 Ezoic Earnings Report

June of 2021 was an exciting month for us, to say the least. We embarked on a case study to see just how much we could earn through premium ads from Ezoic, compared to Google’s AdSense. When we began in October of 2020, Ezoic’s ads netted us earnings of $606. While it might not seem like much, it was a gargantuan rise from September, when Google AdSense had earned us only $177 in ads.

A month later, in November, Ezoic once more surprised us with a $961 cheque, followed by $902 in December. We finally broke through the four-digit mark in February, with ad earnings to the tune of $1,032. For the following months, it gradually kept rising. From $1,186 in March, all the way up to $1,678 in May. However, it was June that really shocked us, with ad revenue peaking at $5,636.

It was a humungous leap, and not at all something we expected. Last month’s report cited several key reasons, including possible changes in Google’s search algorithm, and how the content was written on our unnamed case study domain had evolved. So, did July 2021 see another increase? Well, not really. July’s ad revenue amounted to around $5,396, which marked a slight decrease and readjustment.

Traffic as a whole dropped just a tiny bit. We noted over 151,000 visits and nearly 173,000 pageviews. 110,000 of which are classified by Ezoic as ‘engaged’ pageviews. That essentially points to visitors having spent a decent chunk of time (at least 10 seconds) browsing around. Oddly, while our traffic was generally lower, we noted a higher ePMV (earnings per thousand visitors) of $35.67.

Key Figures

It’s worth mentioning that all of those ad bucks come from Ezoic alone. Owing to their mediation tools, we’re able to earn through Ezoic’s ads alongside AdSense, which is pretty neat. That did help to maximize our ad earnings across two sources instead of one, as Ezoic picks and chooses which ads to show that’ll earn you more. Overall, I’m still very pleased with how July’s ad revenues have turned out.

Despite that slight dip, there’s plenty of great news to relish. A couple of months ago, we’d be happy with earning $50 in ad revenue every day. In July, our case study domain was earning at least $175 per day. Once again, a monstrous increase from purely ad revenue. We still believe Google’s algorithms are to be thanked for this gain. Maybe they really did like our content and pushed us up in the rankings.

July 2021 Ad Revenue From Ezoic
Revenue (Total) $5,396.79
Traffic Visits 151,294
Pageviews 172,909
Engaged Pageviews 110, 605
ePMV (Earnings Per Thousand Visitors) $35.67

It’s humbling to see where we’ve come from, having switched to using Ezoic. In the old days, AdSense and their sub-$200 payout were enough for us. Now, we’re able to reinvest much of our profits from Ezoic into writing up a bucket load of new SEO-focused content. Our growth over the last month may have somewhat benefitted from us moving into Ezoic’s gilded premium programmed for publishers.

In essence, they’ll take an upfront fee in return for the opportunity of getting premium advertisers onto your website. I’m still not entirely enthused by their model where you’ll have to pay first and get ad revenue at the end of the month. But if you can stomach that, Ezoic also has a guarantee where they promise at least 25% more in ad revenue compared to their rivals. Otherwise, they’ll pay the difference.

Ezoic Earnings Video Overview

If you’re still using AdSense, it makes every bit of sense to switch over to Ezoic. If you’re subscribed to their rivals at AdThrive or Mediavine, it’s certainly worth checking out, too. Thankfully, Ezoic tries to make the transition process a tad bit easier.
