$1,203 – April 2021 Ezoic Earnings Report

April 2021 Ezoic Earnings Report

The only way to go now is up. Indeed, that’s been our experience so far, 7 months into a case study on how it’s been monetizing an unnamed case study domain with Ezoic’s premium ads. For you newcomers, here’s some context… We switched our ad provider from Google’s AdSense to Ezoic back in October of 2020. Our final month having depended on AdSense netted us just $177 for an entire 30-day period.

Immediately, transitioning over to Ezoic had seen startling results. In October, we earned a whopping $606 from Ezoic’s ads. Though a small portion still came from AdSense, through Ezoic’s own mediation tools. This allowed us to monetize from two separate networks, depending on who could earn us more for a specific ad placement. Our ad revenue kept on climbing, to a mighty $961 in November 2020.

April 2021 Ezoic Earnings Report

It dropped a bit in December to $902, purely through us tinkering some of the back-end settings. January’s usually cratering CPMs (combined with a DNS issue on our end) saw it plummet to $699. It didn’t take long to recover, as February 2021 saw ad earnings of $1,032 and $1,186 for March 2021, respectively. Our journey into the four-digit zone continued this month, as April’s ads earned $1,203.

This is partly due to increasing traffic towards our case study domain. We noted a respectable bump in visits to more than 71,000, alongside nearly 84,000 pageviews. Amongst the latter, 51,000 of them are classified as ‘engaged’ pageviews. These are visitors which Ezoic sees has spent a certain amount of time (at least 10 seconds) on our site. So, was that all… Does more traffic equal higher ad revenue?

Key Figures

Interestingly, our ePMV (earnings per thousand visitors) had dropped to $16.76 as an average across all pages. There have been a few days throughout April 2021 where our domain there saw more than $50 in daily ad earnings. So far, we’re experiencing more of that compared to the past months, which is certainly reassuring. Nevertheless, our April ad revenues are still in the ballpark figure of March.

Despite higher traffic, the lower ePMV, unfortunately, balances it out to a lower than expected figure. On our end, we’re still focused on creating more content regardless, primarily around targeting a set keyword in the hopes that it’ll rank well in Google. Better still, the higher yields we’ve gained through Ezoic’s ads are being put into good use. Mainly, we’re reinvesting it into more work down the line.

April 2021 Ad Revenue From Ezoic
Revenue (Total) $1,203.26
Traffic Visits 71,785
Pageviews 83,988
Engaged Pageviews 51,381
ePMV (Earnings Per Thousand Visitors) $16.76

Still, it’s night and day compared to what AdSense alone would’ve earned us. Given the same amount of traffic we’re pulling today, AdSense could’ve earned us in the neighborhood of $400. At the most. So, we definitely can’t scoff at $1,200+, and I’m hopeful that we’ll continue to see further gains. Ezoic, of course, uses AI and machine learning to optimize ads on your site, and it’ll learn as it goes along.

Fingers crossed that Ezoic’s AI has pinned down the right strategies to maximize ads for our domain. We’re pleased thus far and are optimistic for next month’s report. If you’re using AdSense, consider a switch to Ezoic to see greater ad earnings. Should you be embedding ads through other premium ad providers like AdThrive and Mediavine, Ezoic has a guarantee that it’ll earn you 25% more in ad revenue.
