Great question. It can be yes, but I think it will be a long time until no one ever wants to browse a website and only wants to look at the SERP for information. I would also say that long-form informational articles would be the last to be affected when compared to quickly looking up a technical spec or similar, which searches would be happy to see in the SERP.
